Happy Birthday to PondPatrol.com

It’s been a busy month at the Mulberry Ridge: a photo exhibit, an article in The Westword, another one in The Onion and an upcoming piece for the 5280 Magazine. Why? Well, because PondPatrol.com is a year old. I thought a birthday party would be a great way to celebrate one year of hard work. And it happened last Tuesday. It was a great night full of surprises and joy. It seems like it was yesterday that John Harris and the team arrived at the Mulberry Ridge Pond. A lot of things have happened and the story has become more and more intricate. Sure 12 inch soldiers fighting radioactive turtles are silly, but then so is the world. We packed about 100 people in a little room downstairs from St. Mark’s Coffee House here in Denver. The band Porlolo kicked off the night with a marvelous set around 8:30PM. Our friends from JapanImplosion.com silk screened over 50 t-shirts from fans and friends, using a design created by graphic artist Jonathan Tills. Then we had cake and a lousy speech by Pondpatrol’s creator Gio Toninelo. Singer song writer Joshua Novak performed songs from his new album. Gio even signed a few autographs. A phenomenal performance by “the Greatest Hits” rounded out the evening, ending a wonderful night that I really don’t want to forget.

Thanks to all of you!
