The
1st
GI JOE STOP MOTION FILM FESTIVAL
will be held September 20th, 2007 at the Bug
Theater (Denver, CO USA) and will combine the excitement of
world premiere short-films and fan tributes with the allure of
Denver's nightlife. GI JOE Film Fest highlights up and coming
filmmakers, as well as masters of the craft and has already attracted
award winning films. Under the direction of festival president
Gio Toninelo, the 1st GI JOE Fest is determined to become one
of the hottest and fastest growing stop-motion festivals in the
West.
The
1st GI JOE STOP MOTION FILM FESTIVAL
is the nation's first festival dedicated to screening
works by media artists who use GI Joe or similar figures (12"
and/or 3 ¾ sizes) as main characters or actors". The
Festival is being sponsored by PondPatrol.com
Calling
all filmmakers with works in stop-motion animation of GI JOES!
The 1st GI JOE STOP MOTION FILM FESTIVAL
is now accepting works for the following categories:
--
Stop-Motion 3 3/4 Action Figures:
Produced, written or directed by media makers using 3 ¾
(1:18th scale) GI Joe action figures or similar figures. No longer
than 20 minutes (deadline postmarked July 20th 2007).
-- Stop-Motion 12" Figures:
Produced, written or directed by media makers of using 12"
(1:6th scale) GI Joe action figures or similar figures (deadline
postmarked July 20th 2007).
-- Stop-Motion Barbie: Open to film
and video submissions produced, written or directed by media makers
using Barbie Dolls or similar figures(1:6th scale). No longer
than 20 minutes (deadline postmarked July 20th 2007).
-- Live-Action Figures: (animating
figures using your hands/wires). Open to film and video submissions
produced, written or directed by media makers using GI JOE action
figures or similar figures(1:6th scale and/or 1:18th scale). No
longer than 20 minutes (deadline postmarked July 20th 2007).
--Fan Films (Real actors):
Open to film and video submissions produced, written or directed
by media makers using human actors to describe the GI JOE "World".
Previews are also welcome. No longer than 20 minutes (deadline
postmarked July 20th 2007)
