The 3rd GI JOE STOP MOTION FILM FESTIVAL award ceremony will be held October 20th, 2010 at the Alamo Drafthouse (Austin, TX USA) and will combine the excitement of world premiere short-films and fan tributes with the allure of Austin's nightlife. GI JOE Film Festival highlights up and coming filmmakers, as well as masters of the craft and has already attracted award winning films in the past years. Under the direction of festival president Gio Toninelo, the GI JOE FEST has became one of the hottest and fastest growing stop-motion festivals in the country.

We are currently touring the United States with the winning films from 2009. Subsequently, winning films from the 2010's Festival will travel in 2011.

The GI JOE STOP MOTION FILM FESTIVAL is the nation's first festival dedicated to screening works by stop-motion artists who use GI Joe figures (12", 8" -sigma 6- and 3 ¾ sizes) as main characters or actors". The Festival is sponsored by The Onion (TM)

Please submit your films for the 4th edition of the festival in 2010, under the following categories:

-- Stop-Motion 3 3/4 Action Figures: Produced, written or directed by media makers using 3 ¾ (1:18th scale) GI Joe action figures. No longer than 20 minutes (deadline postmarked July 20th 2008).

-- Stop-Motion 8" Action Figures: Produced, written or directed by media makers using 8" (Sigma 6) GI Joe action figures. No longer than 20 minutes (deadline postmarked July 20th 2008).

-- Stop-Motion 12" Figures: Produced, written or directed by media makers of using 12" (1:6th scale) GI Joe action figures (deadline postmarked July 20th 2008).

We will also award films under the following sub-categories: Best Drama, Best Action Scene, Best Documentary, Best Comedy, Best Vintage Film, Best Photography and Best Gory Film.
